Provided you had the talent to write or record a hit song, the music industry was once a premier sources of residual income -- royalties. But with the dawn of the digital age, everything changed. As the owner of a record label with major distribution deals, Edwin Haynes saw that it was taking more and more work to make less and less money.
Instead of singing the blues, he found a new groove: network marketing. And when his pal Holton Buggs showed him the Organo Gold business, he knew it would be a hit. And he's made a fast climb up the charts, reaching Diamond in just a year.
How did he do it? "Massive action" was the key, he said. "I got the product out to as many people as I could, as fast as I could. Don't be bashful about your business. I always say you're going to have to go through a certain amount of 'No' to get to 'Yes,' so I just process the 'No' faster."
Thanks to his previous business successes, Ed and his wife Andrea had a great lifestyle before, but Organo Gold has still made a big difference. "Because of the products we have, our income has become recession proof," he said, adding "It's also increasing the quality of the things we can look at. Instead of a Mercedes S550, I can look at a Rolls-Royce Phantom. It's allowed us to have a bigger dream."
